I'll be there tonight. That is a stupid poll to post. All it does is make people selfish and play for themselves and not the team. Valesinho

Pirata, Once again, you cross the line. This is a team divided and it has been for a long time. Why the f**k do you think we don't win anything? There is a simple reason - EGOS & CLICKS. As The President, instead of calling us names and demoralizing us you should focus your efforts on reinstating a positive morale. Its clear we need to do some team building so everyone can get over their issues. There is 4 or 5 games left in this season and I for one would like to see us all put our differences aside and win out the rest of the season. We also have the Challenge Cup to look forward to and this first one against Cordova Bay is a beauty. Really looking forward to it. Lets play as a team and finish this season and then next year we can all go our separate ways. Pirata, we all have faults. Although your words are sometimes not positive I think you have gone above and beyond for not just this team but the entire club as well, and I for one would be sad to see you leave your position within the organization. I hope you re-consider your position and don't step down. Valesinho

I've crossed the line once again? Negative or Positive I've always been there to listen and respond if necessary. When I do respond I get s**tted upon or patted on the back. We talked about criticism last night and how you would take it and i respond today and what do I get, a tongue lashing. There are 5 games left in the season which includes a challenge cup game or more depending how we do, then players can go their separate ways? what the f**k is that. Every year since I came back to this team, it has improved quite dramatically to the point that I thought that this would be the year we would move up, but we've had some hiccups, so I looked forward to next year and building upon that, but it seems by the way that you wrote the blog that your intentions of leaving are quite clear. I soul searched last night and made a decision that would be for the betterment of the team, and that is why I have decided to step down as the president of Sagres and let some new blood take the reigns and guide this organization into the future. I don't need to explain myself anymore as I think that I have said enough, so go out and win the rest of the season and challenge cup and look to next year. And as Danny the Intern would say "I'm Tony the president and I'm stepping down" pirata

1st of all please don't bring Dti into this. That is a charachter I play as part of my job, it is not a direct reflection of who I am. Here is what I have to say: Pirata - "We talked about criticism last night and how you would take it and i respond today and what do I get, a tongue lashing." Danny - Tell me how you would expect us to respond when you make a statement like this "You are all hypocrites and selfish to the bone". If you read your post from Today at 9:42am you are also calling this a Team Divided, which I explained that it is. I came back to this team because I truly believed it was going to be a different season and at first it was and I was confident in my decision to return. This is who I am in a nut-shell. If I can make it tp practice I am there, no question. On Gamedays I give it 110%. I do not care about scoring titles and golden boots or any of that s**t. There is no denying that I always look to put my teammates first. How many times have I sent my teammates in with a chance on goal. I always try and bring the fun to practices and games. Constantly trying to have a laugh. There is noone harder on me than myself when things don't go right. I try to give positive criticism wherever I can. I need to get better at taking criticism, I'll admit that. I have put in many years of riding the pine and putting in blood , sweat, and tears for this team and therefore I will not stand for some hotshot or no it all tell me what to do. I don't deserve that. Now I understand that the way I am doesn't sit well with people and that's fine, but I'm not going to change. Those of you who talk s**t need to step forward. If you try and bring someones faults to light so that you can shine, you need to step forward. If your ego is so big that you blieve you should be playing ahead of others, then you need to step forward. Tony P was not lying last night when he said what he said. People for whatever reason do not like me and that's ok, but Tony called them out for s**t talking me and now he wears the target. Whether the executives know about this or not the truth is it happens. There is whispering and clicks have been formed and its disgusting. I feel sorry for guys like Simon, and Higuain, and Carlo because these are amazing people who choose to play for this club and turn up to practice and games just to hear us bitch and cry and moan at eachother. There is a reason every team in The VISL hates us and you know what.....They are not wrong. We have a bad rep because we don't change. We know that these problems exist, yet we don't change for the better. When I say we are a team divided it is because we are. When I say we finish out the season and then go our separate ways its because we obviously don't click as a team. Do I want to play for another team and start from scratch - NO!!! Will I have more fun and less stress if I do - PROBABLY!! Read my last post at 12:02pm today and really read it. Listen to the words that you read and then tell me is there anything in there that is untrue, or unfair to say??? Valesinho

Danny I really and truly love you man. I have read your post and as far as the comment of hypocrites and selfish goes I still stick to it, in that it exemplifies what this team is about. You can talk all you want but in the end it changes for a little while and then it reverts back to the same crap. I also agree that the team is divided and that things need to change to make it better. I know that you give 110% and I salute you,I wish I had more of you on the team, you are what this team needs to build around and go forward from there. What I see on this team is a new generation and the older one clashing, but that is expected as you and I have been there at one time also. The team needs the young bloods to continue into the future as sooner or later we will be going into the over 35's. Cudo's to Tony P for sticking up for you and the other older guys that feel shunned it's not right but we have to be the better man in the end and lead the young f**kers by example to the promise land because without you guys it's a long road. Yes I also feel bad for the Simon's, Carlo's and Anton's of our team they don't deserve to listen to the s**t talk after every game.I think that you're wrong when you say that the teams in the VISL hate us.... they don't, they just wait to see how long it takes for us to start fighting with each other so that they can take advantage of the situation and score goals and win the game. I felt that you were telling me and the rest of the team that you were or are done with the team at the end of the season. As far as the s**t talk and c**kiness goes I have seen it and I for one don't like it. All it takes on this team is for 1 player to start s**t talking at practice or at a game and it takes the fun out of the rest of the day.. I agree that it has to stop, having a team meeting will probably end things for a while but it will re-surface eventually..... that's the Portuguese mentality, I don't deny or disagree with what you say.
I hope that more of you read and respond to this, we need to get this out of the way and start anew.
As far as me stepping down though....... It's still a go.
to everyone, it's been great, see you out on the pitch.
Tony

The only problem my friends is, do the younger guys even care about any of this? The problems are abundantly clear in more ways than one. But do they even give a s**t? Because to me it seems they know the problems exist, but yet when confronted they deny any fault in the problem. As far as I am concerned we can not fix the problem until everyone accepts some blame. I for one will accept and that I have a temper as do most of you, I lose my cool even when I know I shouldn't but then again I am Portuguese. I will not apologize for sticking up for Vales nor what i said last night, but i will admit i could have chosen my words a little better. I use to have a pride once for playing for this team, it meant so much for me to play for my cities Portuguese team. But now the pride is fading over all of this, I don't feel that comradery we once had years ago when i first started with the club. In all my years playing with the club this is the worst it has been by far. We can not be a team if we are divided, I am sorry but it's true. I will leave this rant with a link to what a team is and hope you read it as i have and try to learn from it as i will try my best to also. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TeamTone

Well done Tone!!! Very good interpretation of what a Team is and should be. Suggestion!! How about all the Veteran players step up and discuss with all the younger players of how to be team players and also of how and what you guys did in your younger years to fit in with a team. Can you do it??? pirata

I think we can do it. The question is do they want to learn? I'm still learning! Every time I play with guys like Jerry, Ricky, Phil Braz, and Robbie I learn. I remember back in the day at Beckwith, we were playing in a pre-season tournament, I was quite new to soccer at the time and Phil Braz saw that I wanted to get better and so he showed me how he locks his leg when he strikes the ball to get more power. That is quality!!!! I know I dont have a left foot that can generate enough power or acuracy as my strong foot but I still know how to use it Eg: left footed cross to Tone at needle park and he burried it for a 1-0 lead. This yr in pre-season I had a young kid try and teach me how to use my left. That is the difference between someone willing to learn and someone who already knows everything. I like what you propose Pirata, this team needs to bridge the gap between 1st-3rd yr players and veterans. Valesinho

It used to be the best thing in the world playing for this team Ive learned so much from the older guys from ricky to arruda or vales, marco etc you just have to watch them play for 5 seconds to learn something. The problem is every year something f**king douchery goes on from tony nogueira getting fired for no reason, john soares year long dickery or players just not giving a f**k and not going to practice. If you cant give professional respect to your teammates who you see maybe 5 hours a week maybe soccer isnt your thing, I dont even know these cliks people are talking about all the players and management are good people this isnt f**king jersey shore man up and just have fun you cant agree with everybody. this is div 4 it SHOULD be used for giving YOUTH experience, management has to be more vocal with the WHOLE team and not through fcsagres.com, reward hard work and if youre down 2-0 or 3-0 probably means its time to change something. Sagres to me feel like a piece of poop that took 6 years to get off

Hey Junot ... your shoe up your ass and then wear it. You can do the talk, but can you do the walk with the rest and prove what you are saying to the rest of the young guns. pirata
